MY NEW OBSESSION: YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS

MY NEW OBSESSION: YOUNG LIVING ESSENTIAL OILS

I’m in the process of becoming the best version of myself. And it certainly is a process. Conscious Living, Spiritual Development and Manifesting the life I imagined. Yeah! I’m feeling that. It’s true what they say happens when you turn 40. This awakening happens and your plans, ideas, and path shift and if you’re ready, the shift almost makes old habits unbearable so you can’t help but do better. Now I’m approaching 45 and I’m really starting to get what “they” say on a physical level as well. Body aches, fatigue, my back is even widening! WTH! So it’s time. I’ve started making the transition to living a healthier lifestyle and using organic products. It’s not easy, and can be quite costly, but the results are amazing! I’ve been a fan of oils for quite some time but mostly ones that I use for my hair like coconut oil, jojoba oil, and black Jamaican Castor oil. So naturally I was so happy I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils last year because they go hand in hand with my journey to wellness.

I gotta admit that learning these oils has been somewhat overwhelming but I’m finding the benefits of using them are endless and I’m definitely learning as I go. With the help of my friend and wellness coach, Jennifer McDaniel, Instagram and Pinterest…I am well on my way!

So Zoë was feeling a little congested so I thought I would try this diffuser combination. Thieves, R.C., Peppermint and Lavender. I rubbed the Thieves on the bottom of her feet with some coconut oil and had her wear socks. Then I rubbed the R.C. along with some coconut oil on her chest and she loved that. I’m not sure if I added enough because she still seemed congested the next day. But hey, like I said…I’m learning. Another combo I used was R.C., Tea tree, Lemon and Thieves. This seemed to work a little better but hey maybe it’s just me.

One of the things I love about YL essential oils is that they are all natural! They work on the body, mind and soul which is why I use them in my tea, in my beauty products and during meditation and yoga. I started researching some of the other oils I was buying from Sprouts and Whole Foods and I learned most of them are not a Therapeutic Grade oil and are for external use only. Young Living is the only company that has their own farms, can absolutely guarantee that no pesticides or herbicides were used in the growing of any of their oils and only uses the first distillation of oils instead of adding chemicals to get more out of the plant. Sounds like my brand of choice!

Some of my favorite oils that I’ve been obsessed with lately are:

Thieves: Great for colds, flu and preventing the spread of infection.  I’ve also started adding this to my toothpaste and I plan to start using it as a natural cleaning agent around the house.

Frankincense: For when we start to feel sick. I put it on my feet before bed and wear socks all night long.  I also used this during meditation.

Lemon: I put a drop in my glass of water. NOTE: I recommend NOT using this oil with a plastic bottle because it can eat at the plastic and release chemicals.

Peppermint: For an upset stomach. I’ll either put it on my belly button or neck.  I read it’s great for carsickness too.  I also diffuse this with Lemon in the morning for a pick me up!

Purification OR Eucalyptus Radiata and Grapefruit for a fresh, clean aroma especially for my teenage sons’ room.

Jasmine, Orange, and Tangerine to create a scent reminiscent of spring

Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Gratitude to help promote deeper meditation

I can’t wait to get my order I just placed because I’m trying out some new ones. Cedarwood and Ylang Ylang!

Namaste,

Angela
